2020 Trendy Foods

Hi there, welcome to my food blog! I'm so excited to be sharing with you some of 2020's top trending foods. Some of these foods may seem a little different and not what we are typically use to but... let's get started!

It's to no surprise that 2020 has made everyone go out of their comfort zone and try new things. I mean, what do we have to lose?

Collagen Protein/Powder:

Collagen Protein can improve skin health, relieve joint pain, can prevent bone loss, boost the production of muscle mass, promote heart health, and improve growth of hair and nails. So if collagen protein can do all of these things,

then what is it? Collagen protein is a fibrous protein that contain three types of amino acids, glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. Many people, especially in 2020, have been adding collagen powders to smoothies, coffee, and tea. This is doable because collagen powder is available in non or mild flavored options.

Keto Diet:

The keto diet is a low carb, high fat diet. In this diet, you replace carbs with fat. This puts you body into ketosis, a metabolic process. Ketosis is a state in which you body doesn't have enough carbs to burn for energy. Instead, your body burns the fat that is being consumed instead of carbs resulting in fat loss. Many people have found this diet to work and become very beneficial to them. Others say it's not worth it.

Ginger:

Just by looking at ginger, I can tell that there has to be some health benefits. Ginger is one of the healthiest spices on earth and can be used in so many different ways. Ginger can be used to help fight off the flu, aid digestion, and reduce nausea. Ginger is incredibly useful for woman who are dealing with morning sickness. This spice can help with weight loss, osteoarthritis, can improve risk factors for heart disease, and lower cholesterol levels. All over social media, influencers have been putting ginger into smoothies, smoothie bowls, ginger shots (wellness shot), and many savory dishes.

Milk Alternatives:

Endless options when it comes to milk alternatives have been discovered. You can find quinoa, oat, soy, almond, cashew, and walnut milk in stores now. They are all plant based but are not necessarily good for the environment.

Oat milk in general is taking center stage. With oat milk's environmental benefits, taste, and lower cost, it will continue to become more and more popular as time goes on.

Everything but the Bagel Seasoning:

I have heard so many people rave about this seasoning and now I understand why. You can literally put it on anything! Tik Tok, social media platform, has come up with food combinations containing this seasoning. Such as, bell peppers with cream cheese and everything but the bagel seasoning. The most popular brand of this seasoning comes from the Trader Joe's.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about a few 2020 trending foods. Come back soon!
